About Me
I live in the Great NW with my husband, P-funk (who would like me to say that he is hip), and our respective stashes of yarn and bike parts. A cat and two chickens also live off the fat of our land. I learned to knit in Nov ‘04 and have become increasingly addicted since then.
I show up in blogland under the names “Not Hip” or “Vargels”. Although I like blogs with pictures of the blogger, I don’t include pictures of my face for professional reasons. I work in confidential settings with at-risk teenagers, which makes me careful about posting pics of myself on the internets. However, for the curious, here is a self-doll that I made. So image the doll taller, with skin instead of cloth, with 3 dimensional facial features, and opposable thumbs and you might come close:
I’m in that age range that is often targeted with knitting books with the words “hip” or “funky” in the titles. However, I am neither hip nor funky. (Okay, one friend has pointed out that I do have a little of the funky, however I have always had an aversion to the word hip.) Both creative and classic designs catch my eye and entice my knitting needles.
