A Knit out of Necessity
August 18th, 2006 at 1:18 pm (Finished Objects 2006)
I ran out of yarn on a trip to visit family and had to find a top that I could knit on the plane home with the amount of yarn that I could find cheaply at the local stores. I drove about 30min to find a yarn store b/c the chain store’s selection wasn’t working for me. Unfortunately the selection at that particular LYS was also quite limited. This knit is a Glampyre design. I ended up knitting it in a a cotton/acrylic blend (Plymouth Stone Cotton). I think the top is fun but the yarn isn’t really right for it and has stretched out quite a bit.
I’m standing kind of funny in this second picture b/c the hen flapped her way out of my arm a split second after this was taken. She apparently wasn’t happy about making her modeling debut.
