I caught this bandwagon late

but look: A sweater!

2.07.09 Fini

Pattern: Cobblestone Pullover by Jared Flood
Yarn: Classic Elite Skye Tweed (from addknitter destash)
Needles: US7

I had a different gauge, so I adjusted the stitch count for a 42″ chest.

Cobblestone arm

I love this color. Phil wanted this sweater in some sort of clay color since the neck reminded him of pottery.

Cobblestone Neck

I was initially a little disappointed that he did like this yarn b/c I wanted a sweater for myself out of it.

Cobblestone Pullover

Good thing that I ended up with 7 balls leftover. Just one ball shy of being able to make this for myself. So I am going to start and track down an extra ball of 1285. Any of you have one?

I’m really going to have to make sure we don’t wear the sweaters at the same time.

It is never too late! And I love that the color pratically matches his hair! :)

Can’t wait for your garter cardi to come to life and wouldn’t y’all just be cutesy twins! (snort) Haha!

Unfortunately, only my sideburns are red, but it is a funny match.

I’m really going to have to try hard to make sure we *do* wear the same sweaters out :)

“P-Funk, why did you put on your coat in the bedroom and why is it buttoned all the way to the top?”

Oh! I just caked up a skein (ballybrae tweed) today to swatch this pattern. Please tell me it’s not as boring to knit as it looks — my guy likes the look of simple stitches but the plainer they are, the longer they seem to take to knit.

    Gorgeous Cobblestone!

Oh my gosh, the Garter Yoke Cardigan is at the top of my To Knit list at the moment. The second I saw it (last month or so?) I knew that it HAD to be mine! It’ll look great in that russet tweed. I have some dark green tweed slated for mine. :)

Good God Almighty your Cobblestone is a winner! So great to see this yarn knit up. I have several other balls of random colors of Skye Tweed (blue, bright orange, and another that I can’t remember) that you can have if you want them:)

That yarn was a perfect match for this sweater, I think. Well done! (And you may be a tad late, but you’re far from the last. I still haven’t made one though it’s been in my queue since the pattern came out!)

Were you and your hubster at Pike Street Market on Sunday Feb 22? I followed around a guy in a Cobblestone trying to capture a picture of one in the wild and never could get a photo without the Cobblestone walking away at the last second.

Hi – just saw this today – great sweater. If you haven’t gotten more of the Skye Tweed, I have two partial skeins in 1235 lot #3905 (I had several colors and the ball bands were taken off; it’s orange-y, right?) that probably add up to a whole skein. Let me know if you want it!

How did I miss this? It is fabulous. Methinks Special K would like his Cobblestone knit about now…maybe in the fall.

    Hi,

Nice site…I especially like the green one you called Star Trekky in an earlier post. And I would have kept the socks with inverted cuff colors as is (or as was?)…you should start a company that sells socks (and gloves…and his/hers sweaters?) with inverted colors like that.

Unrelated question…the cute picture of the little lamb from the farm that you took — do you have restrictions on its use? I’d like to put it on a personal computer as the desktop wallpaper.

    Thanks!

The Jared Flood sweater is simply gorgeous. I have been eyeing the pattern for a while and you have certainly convinced me that it is worth a try!
