My lumps

(For those who are not privileged enough to work in a classroom full of 6-10th graders, the following swill lyrics are brought to you by the Black Eyed Peas.)

>What you gonna do with all that junk?
All that junk inside your trunk?
Imma get, get, get, get, you drunk,
Get you love drunk off my hump.
My hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump,
My hump, my hump, my hump, my lovely little lumps….

(Shetland Triangle Shawl from Wrap Style in Sundara Aran Silky Merino)

You love my lady lumps (love),
My hump, my hump, my hump (love)….

(Glee in Blue Skys Alpaca & Silk)

Lookin’ at my lump, lump.
You can look but you can’t touch it,
If you touch it I’ma start some drama,
You don’t want no drama,
No, no drama, no, no, no, no drama….

(Bobble Bag from OneSkein, finally sewn together, still needs zipper)

My hump, my hump, my hump, my hump,
My hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump.
My lovely lady lumps (lumps)
My lovely lady lumps (lumps)
My lovely lady lumps (lumps)

And I have linked to it before, but Alanis Morrisette’s cover of this song is still cracking me up. The original is rather unintentionally funny itself…well as long as you don’t think too hard about the state of teenage pop culture while watching it because then it is just depressing (so fair warning there). Oh, Black Eyed Peas, whatever happened to you….you used to make some quite decent music.

(Inspiration for this post came from Brenda’s pictures of her lumps and Turtlegirl’s WIP it Wednesday. So now you know who to blame for being exposed to this lovely little ditty….it obviously isn’t my fault or anything.)

I love the color you’re making your shawl in. Everytime I see this shawl I want to make one so bad. It’s so pretty.

And isn’t the alpaca silk lovely, I just dug some out to make something myself, such a wonderful yarn.

The Alanis cover of that song is the most genius brilliant thing ever. I heart it. I also heart your Shetland Triangle.

You’ve done me proud by introducing the Single Sock Lib Movement to the Harlot. The Movement will live on. Great lumps, btw.

    Are those really the lyrics?
Bloody hell that’s worse than I would’ve thought.
At least the Sundara merino is nice…takes your mind off more depressing realities

I had to go watch it again, it makes me laugh so much!!! Love the peeks of your projects – and the wednesday morning giggles – thanks :)

I love your lumps! Seriously, all y our projects looks great.

Seeing those lyrics actually written out is both hysterically funny as well as sad. I didn’t know Alanis had done a cover – I will have to check that out. Yes, the Peas, IMHO like Ms. Stefani, have sold out to the easy money, no substance culture of teen pop.
