Et tu, Philistine?

I joined the Single Sock Liberation Movement, fearlessly following our valient leader.
I railed against the two socked patriarchy.

I fought with DPNs

I fought with two circulars.

I even gave money to the cause so I could continue the fight with more DPNs

But then, the leader’s head was swayed by the siren call of STR.

The abandonment, the agony….me with three unfinished socks on the needles.  Without our leader, is there hope?  Or will I give in to the masses?  Will the two sock hegemony win?

And will I once more make socks with mates?

I’m watching you… missy! The Liberation Movement neeeeeeds you! Do not abandon! Your fearless leader returns (as soon as she grade a million papers and final exams)! I have threeeee (count. them. 3. ) sock-starts. It’s just… my photoreceptor cones… they’re overwrought by pastels and Project Spectrum… (and pretty, pretty STR + easy, pretty, think-less sock patterns)… and you’re over there knitting pretty TWEED things, which is making me want to abando… NEVER!

Fear not, I’ve got tons of singles going, don’t you fret and give into that tiny, tiny patriarchal, cigar-waving dude.

Excellent post, my dear. (And not *just* because it’s about me, I swear).

That little man holding a DPN is really scary. He’s most certainy added one more reason for knitting that damned second sock.

Are you fighting Robert E. Lee or Colonel Sanders? Either way, this post is hilarious. As soon as I finish Mother’s Day socks for my mom (that’ll teach the patriarchy!) I’m joining the revolution.

Great post! Megan fell off the bandwagon in a big way. I have three pairs going, but then I’m changing how I tension the yarn and they’re all variations of tensioning. That’s my story.
